One Demon, Two Ghosts, Three Loads of Cash

Tales from Sunnyside — Benjamin G. Sarno

Sunnyside is a coastal California city founded on Indigenous burial grounds and marked by homicide, genocide, fratricide, and three generations of toxic herbicide. In Sunnyside, the preface warns, a black cat, a broken mirror, or a cold chill is not superstition. It is information.

These are three linked cases that never made the official blotter, reverse-engineered from award-winning screenplays. Rated hard R. Violence, profanity, adult themes throughout.

The Author

Benjamin G. Sarno, author

Benjamin G. Sarno is the author of three linked crime tales: One Demon, Two Ghosts, and Three Loads of Cash.

The stories were reverse-engineered from screenplays that won festival recognition. That process, from screenplay to prose, is visible in how the tales move: scene by scene, with close attention to sequence and consequence.

An epilogue closes the book. It sets up a sequel.

Editor: Gregory Sarno.
